Floyd Mayweather Jr has not fought since May 01, 2010 after winning a twelve round unanimous against Sugar Shane Mosley held at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
After a failed negotiation to fight the current pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Jr has settled to fight the young and primed WBC welterweight champion in Victor Ortiz.
Some expert said that this fight is somewhat like Floyd Jr’s preparation for the mega bout with Manny Pacquiao which will happened in early 2012. Even Freddie Roach expressed the same opinion because like Manny Pacquiao, Victor Ortiz is also a southpaw. Victor Ortiz is young and strong but doesn’t possessed the same ring explosiveness with that of Manny Pacquiao.
Richard Schaefer is trying to finalize negotiation with the MGM Grand as the venue for Mayweather-Ortiz clash.
